- You also will need to set up an interview. You can do this by swinging by our office after the deadline and signing up outside our door for an interview time.

New Instructor, New Class
You've never taught an ExCo before and, appropriately, this class has never been taught before. Welcome!
- Read the new course proposal guidelines.
- Fill out a New Course Application.
- Fill out an Instructor Application.
- Read the Budget Information Sheet and fill out a Budget Request Form if your course will need money.
- Hand in a copy of your syllabus (see How to Write a Syllabus)
- Supply two recommendations:
- If you are a student, supply one Faculty Recommendation and one General Recommendation.
- Otherwise, please supply two General Recommendations.
- Sign up for an interview time outside the ExCo Office door. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us anytime by emailing exco@oberlin.edu, or stop by our office in Wilder 302 during our office hours.
New Instructor, Old Class
You've never taught an ExCo before but this class has been taught before (by somebody else).
- Fill out a Course Renewal Application.
- Fill out an Instructor Application.
- Read the Budget Information Sheet and fill out a Budget Request Form if your course will need money.
- Hand in a copy of your syllabus (see How to Write a Syllabus )
- Supply two recommendations:
- If you are a student, supply one Faculty Recommendation and one General Recommendation.

You've taught an ExCo before and this class has been taught before (by you). If you've been an instructor before, but you're teaching a class that you've never taught before, you must also fill out an Instructor application specific to the course you are teaching.
